According to an email that has been circulating about Hollywood, Miramax Studios, who gave us the films that you see to your right (and more), is “shutting its doors”.

The studio, founded by Harvey and Bob Weinstein, has been owned by Disney since 1993. It was apparently Disney’s decision to shut down the New York and Los Angeles offices.

The company still has six films that have yet to be released, that will either be shelved or get a limited theatrical release before going to DVD.

This is a real shame, because some of the posters on the right are from some of my favorite films. I noticed that conspicuously missing from the Miramax collage is Ella Enchanted.
