Never suggest that Jon Favreau is one to let grass grow under his feet, folks–almost as rapidly as previous lead Robert Downey Jr. announced he was leaving, a new lead was rumored to be stepping in.

And who did they get to take over the lead role of Zeke Johnson, as he helps a group of Arizona settlers and Apache indians fend off marauding alien hordes?  Why, their eyes are on no less than James Bond himself…Daniel Craig.

Well, okay…I guess that’d work.  Granted, Daniel Craig is not the first name that comes to mind when I think “alien fighting cowboy”, but the guy’s definitely got the chops for the job.  He’s got the action cred, he’s got the James Bond experience, and he’s got the name recognition.

The role is admittedly a bit off for him…but can he do it?  He’s in talks right now, but where those talks will go remains to be seen.
