Cary Elwes, Dean Lennox Kelly, Peter Serafinowicz and Adam Campbell are in talks to portray the members of the Beatles in Yellow Submarine, which Robert Zemeckis is remaking for Disney.

I am familiar with Elwes, who has played some sinister characters (Ted Bundy in The Riverman) quite well and was in Zemeckis’ A Christmas Carol. He will play George Harrison. Kelly, a British actor who is currently on the BBC’s “Robin Hood” series, is portraying John Lennon. Campbell will be Ringo Star. He has started in Epic Movie and Date Movie. Serafinowicz appeared in Shaun of the Dead and in Couples Retreat. He plays Paul McCartney.

The original 1968 animated movie featured the music of the Beatles and a storyline about a soldier called Old Fred. He meets up with the Beatles and travels in a yellow submarine to Pepperland.

Enjoy the original Yellow Submarine Trailer – it’s a bit worn but pure Beatles!
