There is two different sets of rumor that seem to be contradicting each other outright in regards to Sam Raimi’s next project.  Since Spider Man 4 is now completely destroyed, and they’re going back to the reboot well, Sam Raimi’s suddenly got time on his hands. The question, of course, is what will he do next.  And right now, there are two rumors:

1. He’s going on to World of Warcraft.

2. He’s going to do some smaller horror pieces like Drag Me To Hell.

Now, naturally, there’s HUGE money to be made in a World of Warcraft film. Naturally, everybody and his mother wants to see Raimi tackle that one if for no other reason than, hey, it’s World of Warcraft and it’ll make bank.  Like no tomorrow bank.

But from cohort Robert Tapert comes this:

“I think he’s getting his feet under him and trying to decide. He might want to do a teeny, tiny small film, but I don’t know what he wants to do. I know he had a great time doing Drag Me to Hell.”

So it’s entirely possible that we won’t get a WoW film right away…but soon may not be out of line.
