Scott Pilgrim Versus The World Sequel?
Answer: Nope.
Or at least not any time soon, say the folks working on the current movie version of the six-issue comic series. Indeed, an interview was staged with titular Scott Pilgrim, Michael Cera, who said that he’s not signed on for any sequels, nor has he been approached to be signed up for any, either.
Naturally, if the first one does well, and we’ll find out sometime in 2010, according to the IMDB, more than likely we’ll get a better idea of sequel potential.
And just in case you’re not already familiar with the plot, Scott Pilgrim Vs. The World revolves around title character Scott Pilgrim, who’s out to win the affections of a young lady by taking on her seven ex-boyfriends, all of whom are evil. The movie itself appears to be at least part video game, which makes double sense when I mention that there will be a video game translation of the movie, which, itself, has several video game elements including save points and enemies bursting into showers of coins.
This…should be interesting. But will it be interesting enough to rate a sequel? We’ll find out!
