Yes, that’s right, folks–some college short film actually came out with a title like The Holy Dead.  See, this is why I love college short film.  They make movies on shoestrings and they just plain don’t CARE.

And this short, The Holy Dead, which is clearly so very British that they’ll name a dog Paddington, is an example of what happens when filmmakers just don’t care.

Basically, all we’re getting for plot on this one is the start of a Zombie Apocalypse.  No one’s sure why the bodies of the recently deceased are getting up and wandering around, but they are, and that doesn’t make things easy for anyone.

This really isn’t a short film so much as it is a brief scene from a larger film that might well have actually had things like a plot and decent acting.  Worst of all, The Holy Dead doesn’t even have a title that makes sense.  There’s nothing particularly holy in here, at least not that I saw.  HolEY, perhaps, after all the biting sets in, but certainly not holy.

The Screenhead Ten Scale takes this confused, half-baked zombie sludge with a thoroughly nonsensical title and gives it a three out of ten.  And it would have done worse, if it had taken much more time out of my life than it actually did.
