Why No Jewelry for B.A. In The A-Team Remake?
After you’ve seen the trailer out here, you may be wondering, especially if you remember the original A-Team, why isn’t Rampage Jackson festooned with gold jewelry in the way the ORIGINAL B.A. Baracus, Mr. T, was?
Turns out Joe Carnahan himself was willing to explain on that score, and here it is:
“Rampage and I had a lot of conversations and we were both adamant that this character is B.A. Baracus, not Mr. T.”
Thank you, Joe…this clears up absolutely nothing.
In fact, it almost makes the whole picture even MORE murky than it was. I mean, for crying out loud–Mr. T wasn’t wearing the gold jewelry when he played B.A., it was B.A. WEARING the gold jewelry while Mr. T was playing him. You can’t separate the two out like that; it just doesn’t make any sense.
Ah well…at least we can look forward to a lot of mindless explosions and good old fashioned silly fun, which is something that’s been in fairly short supply at the movies these days, it seems like. When was the last wild comedy we saw, The Hangover?
Hopefully this won’t take too many more liberties with the original plot, though–the original was pretty good fun as it was.
