Zombie Movie Review–Christian Drama?
Okay, I have to admit that when I went rummaging around for zombie short film on YouTube and I came out with Zombie, I was, well, concerned.
“Christian drama” doesn’t do very well because it’s often low budget and extremely preachy with little in the way of subtlety. Most times, the writers and directors are too busy pounding the message into the audience’s head to remember basics like simple storytelling. So how did this one stack up? Let’s see.
Zombie features a guy who falls asleep in church. Nothing new there…until we see what happens directly afterward.
I have to admit, I really like what they did here. Though the actual Bible quoting here is a tick off (the guy in the story actually lived through his fall)–the end result is a surprising one that actually works well here. I’m very pleased with how this turns out as they even throw in a note of humor at the end.
The Screenhead Ten Scale gives this out of nowhere surprise short a seven out of ten for doing something that few Christian dramas before it have done–be interesting.
