Blade 4 In The Works?
For those of us who’ve actually seen the entire Blade trilogy (and yes, there are some of us out there), the thought of a fourth Blade leaves us somewhat mystified.
Sure, the first one was plenty interesting, with its hyperkinetic action stylings and its comically overblown villain in Stephen Dorff, but it just sort of fell off from there, Ryan Reynolds notwithstanding.
So imagine my shock to hear that there was talk of a fourth Blade, and the non-imprisoned Wesley Snipes (who was up for some jail time on tax evasion) is looking to come back on it. There’s further talk–though it seems unlikely–that this might even be a theatrical release.
Though I personally doubt it–considering that the last Blade movie, House of Chthon, went direct to television before hitting video, there’s not much likelihood of getting a theatrical release out of this. But there’s always a possibility, especially in a Hollywood environment whose first, last and only diktat appears to be “Lightning often strikes several times in the same place”.
