Dear John slid by Avatar with $7 million more than the science fiction movie.  I find this very interesting. Avatar contains a love story and so does Dear John. The month is February.  Love is in the air. 

Dear John not only beat Avatar but made some records.  The movie, based on Nicolas Sparks novel, now holds the record for best opening day on Superbowl weekend and best opening for a movie based on a Sparks’ book.

From Paris with Love opened this weekend as well.  The John Travolta movie place third after Avatar.

It will be interesting to see how the weekend box office tally pans out. See you Sunday!
