Fresh News On Burke And Hare
Remember when we were getting all cheery happy about the casting details revealed on Burke and Hare? Well, it turns out we got a fresh new nugget for you–new cast has been added and it’s magnificent.
Not only has the terminally creepy Christopher Lee managed to get a piece of the corpse-stealing action, but no less than PENNYWISE THE DANCING CLOWN has been brought in. Oh my yes, it’s none other than Tim Curry.
Folks, from a sheer horror standpoint this news could not get much cheerier. You get a major classic act like Christopher Lee and you put him up alongside one of the most underrated names in horror EVER, well, the end result has to be wild.
This is in addition to Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis, so the four of them alone should be indication enough that we’re in for a treat. Who knows who else’ll show up?

Burk & Hare (trailer) – A comedy Movie.
5 – Stars
Where did they dig this up?!……. but Seriously – it’s about time! These guys have had such a bad press and were just unlucky enough to commit their comedy crimes in the first UK city to ever evolve a police force. It’s nice to see the funny side of murder, mutilation and grave robbing coming out at last. All we get from the press is the negative side of this kind of thing. As we all know, Burke & Hare dug bodies up from graves and then saw that fresh bodies were better so 16 dead and who knows how many more murdered to sell their fresh corpse to Dr Knocks for dissection. A surgeon, who never asked any questions of his comedy corpse delivery boys. To this day the act off smothering someone to death so as not to leave marks is called “Burking” and now the pair have fitting recognition that goes beyond having a mere act of murder named after them. What wonderful subject matter. Zombies only take you so far and you can’t be truly funny with imaginary stuff. This film probably wrote itself. It’s doubtless going to be pure gold. Proof, if indeed any proof were needed, that all you need is to allow time to go by and the comedy shines through after the overreaction of horror, suffering and shock fades away and ceases to hold it back. My only regret is sadly I won’t be around to see what Simon Peg’s great great grand child does in the comedy film about Harold Shipman but I bet it will be hilarious! Just give it time. Trust me.
