Hey, Hasbro, make a movie out of this: Visionaries
The other day, I was searching for something to watch, and I remembered this cartoon from the late eighties called Visionaries: Knights of the Magical Light.
I learned that this cartoon was owned by Hasbro toys, owners of the Transformers and GI Joe franchises, and I found that it had a very intriguing premise, and should be a movie.
If you haven’t seen it, here is the first part of the pilot episode in the video above. Visionaries takes place on a distant planet that was very technologically advanced, but all that one day came to a close. Machines started working, and an age of magic was dawning.
Apparently, the end of technology created anarchy, and two factions fought it out for control: the Spectral Knights and the Darkling Lords. Guess who the bad guys are.
One day, a wizard named Merklin (seriously) comes to both groups and promises them magical powers. As a result, both groups have the ability to change into animals. Some of them even have other spell-casting powers, and some can take control of flying vehicles from the bygone era of technology.
In short, it is the perfect mix of fantasy and science fiction, and this brilliant idea needs to be made into a movie. Hasbro, if you are listening, contact me, seriously.
