It has been reported that 20th Century Fox has bought the movie rights to Missile Command. Yes, that’s right, Missile Command, the shooter game for the arcade that made a pretty decent Atari 2600 game as well. You can still find it as an iPhone app and on Xbox Live Arcade.

Don’t ask me how they’ll make a movie out of this one. The game was about six cities on a planet known as Zardon, who, for unknown reasons, were being bombed by aliens from the planet Krytol. I’m sure the film will go into the reasons for the war, and why the Zardonians built six cities in a row. Who will they get to play the missile-shooter?

For those of you who can’t remember the glory days of Missile Command, then you might want to check out an episode of Chuck last season where he had to beat the game. The secret was “Tom Sawyer” by Rush.
