I just about had my own Danny Thomas Spit Take when I caught a glimpse of this particular newsy bit, so you know I have to pass it on to you.  Seriously.  Have to. Not a bit of choice.

Seems that Rip Torn, the seventy eight year old actor, was arrested over the weekend for wandering drunk into a Litchfield Bancorp building with a revolver.

He was due in court yesterday and was being held on a hundred thousand dollars bond for burglary and possession of a firearm without a permit.

This isn’t Torn’s first rodeo when it comes to getting busted over the hooch, no sirree–he’s been arrested at least twice before for drunken driving, including one that produced some truly epic video.

I had hoped to be able to draw a causal link between Torn’s drunk driving arrest and his horrendous appearance in the epic monument to failure, Tom Green’s Freddy Got Fingered, but as it turns out, about three years separate the two.  Ah well…the video’s still plenty funny and the whole thing’s more than weird enough to justify me talking about it.
