Sick of Avatar? Some were sick of it even before the film ended.

What more more can we at Screenhead say about Avatar? I mean it already is the biggest movie ever, an Oscar nomination, blah blah blah…..

Now here’s the other side of the story. Sure, Avatar has made a fortune in ticket sales, but that doesn’t mean that everyone stuck around until the end of the movie. I’m not saying Avatar was so bad that people walked out on it. Granted, the storyline is unoriginal, but I found the 3D special effects were worth my time.

It actually was the 3D effects that causes some audience members during Avatar to turn tail. Apparently, 3D messes with the body’s vestibular system, the organs in the brain that give us a sense of balance. If this is messed with too much, it will create a sense of nausea.

Apparently, 40 percent of people suffer from a dysfunction with the vestibular system, but I don’t think 40 percent of people walked out (or staggered out) of Avatar. I think we would have heard about that.

Still, that leaves a small minority of people who, for health reasons, couldn’t make it through the film because of the film.

Come on, James Cameron, you made a truckload of cash on this flick. Please give the people their money back.

Interesting regarding the 3d in Avatar. I've seen only two 3d movies in my life. Avatar and Saw 3d. While I don't remember getting sick on Avatar, I remember noticing a flickering effect with Saw 3d. I'm not sure if it had to do with the low light and spooky atmosphere they were trying to go for, but I can see how something like that can get a person sick.
