The Crow Reboot Looks To Start This Summer
Well here’s some news that’ll deflate the tires of your day–seems that they’ve got a writer who’ll have the first draft of the script for the remake of The Crow ready by the end of the month. And what’s more, they’re looking to start shooting this summer.
The Crow is now in the hands of Stephen Norrington, who directed the first Blade movie and both wrote and directed 1994 Brad Dourif vehicle Death Machine (which I actually enjoyed back in the day). This of course has most cinephiles spooked out of their gourds–after all, Norrington’s track record is approaching “dismal” and most would really rather see him work on his World War II horror flick The Lost Patrol than try and breathe new life into a franchise that’s deader than…well, there are a LOT of options to end that analogy, some much less tasteful than others (Brandon Lee, for instance).
But either way, it looks like nothing will stop the Crow remake from coming into bold life, for better or worse, and chances are we’ll get to see it sometime next year.
