Avatar’s Jake Sully, Sam Worthington, will star in murder mystery Texas Killing Fields. Michael Mann is producing and his daughter Ami Canaan Mann will direct. Production starts in April in Louisiana. 

The movie is based on a true story about a pair of police officers, who undertook the daunting task of solving two decades of disappearances and homicides. Total number of victims reached about sixty in the industrial wastelands surrounding Gulf Coast refineries. 

Worthington will portray a local homicide detective. He works with a New York transplant. Together they wage a war against the unknown but fierce killers. 

Worthington has been busy working. He is also attached to star in a science fiction film, The Last Days of American Crime. Short while ago, he was in front of the camera in the John Madden-directed remake of The Debt opposite Helen Mirren.

Worthington is in Warner Bros.’ epic Clash of the Titans, due out April 2.
