Five Independent Spirit Awards to ‘Precious’

225px-Spirit_Awards_TrophyPrecious came out ahead last night at the Independent Spirit Awards. The movie took home five trophies.  The movie celebrated best feature, director, actress, supporting actress and first screenplay.

One of my favorite actors Jeff Bridges won the lead actor trophy for Crazy Heart. Gabourey Sidibe won the lead actress award for Precious

Mo’nique continues to take the supporting actress category for Precious. Woody Harrelson won the best supporting actor trophy for The Messenger

An Education took the award for best foreign film award for director Lone Scherfig.  The best first feature trophy went to Crazy Heart

The ceremony took place in downtown LA, moving from its usual beachside venue.  For complete details of winners go to the official site.
