HBO’s Rome coming to the big screen?

HBO’s series Rome was critically acclaimed, but it did not last long. There is now a rumor that Rome could be seeing a big screen revival.
Bruno Heller, the creator of the series, has a movie script written for Morning Light Productions. Considering that the show ended with the main characters, Lucius Vorenus and Titus Pullo presumed dead, I’m wondering how he can “pick up where Rome left off”.
