Last Call: A horror movie that depends on a cell phone call during the movie

March 12th, 2010 in Horror -

I realize that most of you don’t want to have a cell phone ringtone interrupt your movie, but this new technology is designed to have a cell phone ring during the movie.

You can see the video for more information, and you should note how the character in the movie calls a random person in the audience. The person taking the call can actually give the movie character directions (simple ones, of course), and this somehow changes the plot of the movie. It’s fitting that there is a threatening message at the end, delving the movie-goer into a new level of horror.

So far, the Last Call film has been at film festivals with great praise. I honestly can’t think of another film genre that this would work for besides horror, but you never know.

Do we really need to resort to this gimmick ? Unless you're a brain surgeon surely you can turn your cell phone off for 2 hours can't you?
