Matthew Vaughn Could Be Bringing Us Another Comic Book Flick
Despite the controversy over certain violent scenes in the film, Matthew Vaughn continues to impress movie fans with trailers and tv clips for Kick-Ass, due to hit theaters this April. However, Vaughn is currently considering other projects for his work schedule. His next film could typecast him as a comic book movie director.
Bloodshot is the name of the new project he’s interested in. As a character from Valiant Comics, Bloodshot was a man who worked as a hitman for the mob until his employers turned on him and had him killed. Then the FBI resurrect him through the use of nanites pumped into his bloodstream. As a result, he gains the ability to regenerate, instantly healing from any injury, which makes him almost impossible to kill. However, the nanites also affect his brain, robbing him of his memories. Sounds like a lot like Wolverine, doesn’t it? Without the metal claws, of course.
Then, in true comic book form, Bloodshot begins his personal quest to discover his true identity, recover the memories of his past and wreak vengeance on his former bosses and the rest of the mafia. With the completion of Kick-Ass under his belt, Vaughn is certainly qualified to pull off another comic book movie. Bloodshot would be likely to have plenty of action, blood and graphic violence. However, this film project remains unconfirmed at this time. Vaughn will have to decide whether or not to fully pursue it.
