The Tribeca Film Festival is going to receive a huge sendoff as the fourth and final installment of the Shrek series will appear there.

The film is not due to be released into theaters until May 21st, but the attendees of Tribeca will see it an exact month before its release on April 21st. As you may have guessed, Jeffrey Katzenberg, head of Dreamworks Animation, is quite thrilled.

Anyone hear what Shrek Forever After is about? Apparently, Shrek makes a deal with Rumpelstiltskin and ends up in some film-length alternate reality where ogres are hunted.

Just between you and me, I personally think that this plot is a weak premise at best. Considering how weak Shrek the Third was, I can’t imagine Shrek Forever After being any better. However, since the studio is sure that this is the last Shrek movie, I hope they give the name of Shrek some respect when they lay it to rest.
