Robert De Niro has played a lot of terrific roles during the years, and he will get a chance to play a living sports legend Vince Lombardi.

This film will be produced by ESPN, and based on a book Instant Replay by Jerry Kramer and Dick Schaap. It will follow the career of the coach who took the then loser Green Bay Packers to five-time league champions.

The film already has a tentative release date on January 27, 2012, which is the weekend between the AFC and NFC Championships. Good timing for a “sports” movie.
