Relativity Media bought the script from Charley and Vlas Parlapanides for six figures.  Furthermore, the studio wants the sword-wielding epic to be made with 3D visual effects and be filmed in the same style as 300.  Writer Jason Keller has developed the latest draft for the movie.  Keller is also known for his work on Machine Gun Preacher, due out sometime in 2012.

The following description is the official plot for the film:

A purported bastard who retains an allegiance to his mother despite the fact that he longs to join the quest of a king who is battling demons in ancient Greece later embarks on a grail of discovery that has him finding he is the king’s son and also fated to become his country’s greatest hero as he leads the successful war against long-imprisoned Titans who are hoping to use the demons to restore their power. Slumdog Millionaire star Freida Pinto will join the cast as an oracle priestess named Phaedra, who helps Theseus on his journey, while Mickey Rourke will play the role of King Hyperion.  Universal Pictures has scheduled War Of The Gods be released on November 11, 2011.
