There’s some excited news for spy movie fans, action enthusiasts and men in general. Production is now underway for the next installment in the James Bond series, which will be in 3D. Not only that, Sam Mendes, the chosen director for the film project is currently in the process of selecting actresses to play the next Bond girl.

Of course, Daniel Craig will be returning as the legendary superspy since his last two films, Casino Royale and Quantum of Solace. However, he should be taking notes right now because People.com has made a short list of possible actresses to strike his fancy and get his blood pumping.  Four actresses made the cut for People.com’s selection.  First up, Zoe Saldana who starred in recent movie hits, Avatar and Star Trek. She was selected based on her appeal as a fanboy’s dream girl and she is considered to be a unashamed sci-fi geek.  Then, reality tv star Heidi Montag from The Hills came as another choice, considering her knack of grabbing media attention and her recent obsession with extensive surgery to get the perfectly-formed body.  Next, Transformers star Megan Fox also made the list and last but not least was Freida Pinto from Slumdog Millionaire.

Freida Pinto is currently being considered for the new Bond film, though she has other movie projects on her plate.  But becoming the new love interest for agent 007 could be good for her resume, considering that she’s only had one hit film to date.  Furthermore, Megan Fox was selected by People.com due to her famous sexy looks and experience with facing villains such as Megatron in the Transformers films.
