For some reason this post reminds me of tax day. Nicolas Cage, who plays, Balthazar Blake, has a foreboding look of a master sorcerer in modern-day Manhattan.

Perhaps, his nemesis is the taxman. Alas!  I only have attention on filing my taxes being done on time. I should go to the movies.

The story is about the sorcerer who confronts Maxim Horvath (Alfred Molina). But he can’t do it alone, so he recruits Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel), who appears average. He demonstrates hidden potential and reluctantly becomes the sorcerer’s apprentice while saving the city and getting the girl.
