Nightmare Sliced Friday’s Box Office

Money was screaming last night as A Nightmare on Elm Street took Friday’s box office with a vengeance.   The R-rated remake sliced the No. 1 spot with an estimate of $15.9 million, taking a horrific lead from the other films in the top 10.  

How to Train Your Dragon took in an estimate of $2.6 million. Date Night scored in the No. 3 slot with an estimate of $2.5 million. The Back-up Plan held the No. 4 spot with an estimate of $2.4 million.  The Losers stole about $3 million at No. 5.
