The Eastwood Factor Movie Review–Deep And Extensive Documentary
Sometimes, there’s an actor who’s so gifted, he becomes a part of the film landscape forever, and Clint Eastwood is one of those actors. But he’s not just an actor–not even just a brilliant one–as you’ll find out in today’s review target, The Eastwood Factor, which Warner Brothers sent me a copy of to review.
Most of the movie is talking directly to Clint Eastwood himself, but parts of the movie involve clips from his various other titles, a full retrospective of his acting career. But like I said above, it’s not just about the acting–we’ll also hear about his directorial work, and everything else, to get a look at the man himself. Indeed, this movie will give us a full look at the Eastwood factor.
It’s an incredible perspective, really. There are thousands of things you’d likely have never known about Clint Eastwood’s career, like where all the costumes for all of Clint Eastwood’s movies are stored–and yes, they’re all stored in the same place.
Let’s face it: if you’re any kind of Clint Eastwood fan, you’re going to love this. There’s stuff in here from his biggest movies–Million Dollar Baby, Unforgiven, Invictus, Gran Torino, the Dirty Harry series–and also from a series of his lesser known movies, like Bronco Billy, White Hunter Black Heart, and others. We’ll see him in action and drama and comedy and full-on romance, with more than a few movies that mix the genres nicely.
It’s hard to disapprove of a documentary like this–admittedly, it’s a bit weak and dully in parts, but at the same time, there’s plenty to like here too, with lots of insight you might not have ordinarily gotten.
But if you’re not an Eastwood fan, you can pretty much forget about this movie. This is all Eastwood, all the time, nonstop, forever and ever, amen. And thus, the Screenhead Ten Scale chips in and hands The Eastwood Factor a seven out of ten for being niche, but still bringing in plenty of insight and, somehow, even managing to be entertaining.
