Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark is produced by Mark Johnson and  Guilermo del Toro and is directed by Troy Nixey with Katie Holmes, Guy Pearce, Bailee Madison and Jack Thompson starring in the horror movie.

Del Toro and Matthew Robbins wrote the adaptation of a 1973 ABC movie written by Nigel McKeand.

The fantasy-thriller focuses on a young girl, portrayed by Madison, who’s sent to live with her father (Pearce) and his girlfriend (Holmes) in the old mansion they are renovating, where she unwittingly unleashes malevolent creatures bent on destroying all of them.
