First-Ever 3D Dance Drama – Step Up 3D
New York’s intense street dancing underground comes alive in what the studio is calling “eye-popping Digital 3D” in the third installment of the Step Up franchise. Director Jon M. Chu, who made his feature directorial debut on the box-office hit Step Up 2 the Streets, returns to direct.
The movie looks like raw, passion-fueled culture goes global. A tight-knit group of street dancers, including Luke (Rick Malambri) and Natalie (Sharni Vinson), team up with NYU freshman Moose (Adam Sevani), and find themselves pitted against the world’s best hip hop dancers in a high-stakes showdown that will change their lives forever.
As the first-ever 3D dance drama, Step Up 3D is the first film of its kind to actually be shot in 3D—a rising technical phenomenon that thus far has been reserved for high-concept, big-budget films. Step Up 3D is the first 3D motion picture to shoot entirely in New York City.
The movie opens August 6, 2010.
