Pitt Will Star in World War Z
Not only is Brad Pitt producing World War Z, but he has decided to star in the big screen adaptation of Max Brooks’ post-apocalyptic tome about a worldwide infestation of flesh-eating zombies.
Variety reports that Brooks talked about the project at Comic-Con, adding that Paramount has optioned the film rights to two more of his books: “The Zombie Survival Guide” and graphic novel “The Zombie Survival Guide: Recorded Attacks.”
Marc Forster is attached to direct “World War Z,” while Pitt’s Plan B shingle is producing. Brooks told MTV News that Par is eying a 2012 release.
In “World War Z,” Brooks — son of Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft – spins a tale of a researcher (Pitt) for the U.N. Postwar Commission. He interviews survivors of a decade-long war against zombies from all over the world in order to put together a post-mortem on the war that destroyed every country around the globe.
