Twilight’s Eclipse Sucked Friday’s Box Office

Twilight’s Eclipse kept its fangs in the top box office spot for Friday. The third installment of the book-to-film series earned around $28.5 million. This means the film has made roughly $80.2 million in domestic ticket sales since Wednesday.
The closest competition for Eclipse was The Last Airbender, which earned about $16 million including tickets sold at midnight shows and at 3D theaters.
Toy Story 3 earned about $10.4 million on Friday. Grown Ups took the No. 4 spot with an estimate of $7 million. Knight and Day, starring Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz, came in at No. 5 with about $3.4 million.
