Bioshock Movie May Wind Up PG-13

August 27th, 2010 in Action, Adventure, Box Office, Fantasy, Movies, Video Games -

Bad news for those of you who thought a Bioshock movie would be awesome–they may be out to make it a PG-13 title. Why?  Simple–adult gamers may or may not be a big enough market to make an R-rated Bioshock worthwhile.  Thus, they’re going to try and get the kiddies in the door, and those of us gamers who’ll sigh wistfully, think of what might have been, hold our noses and buy a ticket anyway hoping we’ll at least get a good old fashioned dystopia buzz.

And let’s face it–whether it’s Little Sisters or Big Daddies sucking the Adam out of the residents of Rapture, there’ll still be plenty of dystopia in it if they do things right.

Does it really matter if Bioshock turns out R or PG-13?  Surely it’s possible to tell a good and terrifying story of horror, genetic engineering and libertarian philosophy gone wild under the sea! It’ll take a bit for the trailers to start emerging and show us how things are looking, though, so keep it here for the latest.
