It looks like Robert De Niro will join the cast of Italian romancer Manual of Love 3 in that he is in the final talks to sign the deal.

De Niro, whose role will be partly spoken in Italian, will play a divorced American professor living in Rome in one the four “chapters” of Manual of Love 3.  

Manual of Love 3 will start shooting in Rome on September 24, 2010.

Variety reports that the two previous Manual of Love movies (2005 and 2007) scored a combined $45 million at the Italian box office.

Manuel of Love 3 is the first foreign-language production for De Niro since 1976, when he starred in Bernardo Bertolucci’s 1900.
