There’s a bit of trepidation roaming the Hollywood scene these days over The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Rooney Mara has been cast as Lizbeth, but there’s one big problem–she doesn’t have a lot of name recognition.

See, despite the fact that she was in Youth in Revolt, and Nightmare on Elm Street, and that she’ll be in The Social Network coming up soon, she’s only been working since 2005. So that’s got some worried that she won’t have sufficient name recognition to help out Dragon Tattoo.

To that end, on September 3rd, you’ll be able to see Rooney Mara really work her acting chops in the release of The Winning Season, in which Mara plays a troubled young woman playing basketball on a team coached by Sam Rockwell.  Nothing like a good sports movie to really stretch your acting muscles–sure worked for The Blind Side!--and this just might give Rooney Mara the name credibility she needs to put the boost in Dragon Tattoo.  We’ll find out though soon enough.
