Dark House Trailer–Part of the Fangoria Frightfest
Got another part of the Fangoria Frightfest to have a look at before it hits Netflix, and it’s called Dark House, a movie that may look low-budget, but it has one important special feature.
Part of the eight-film Fangoria Frightfest, Dark House follows an amusement park magnate who decides to buy a house where several murders recently occurred and turn it into a haunted house attraction. He’s got plenty of great special effects and some choice actors, but when things get a little too real, will anyone be able to survive?
Now, looking at the trailer might be a little disappointing. The movie is heavily dependent on special effects–it has to be, given that plot–and it doesn’t look like they quite had the budget to pull it off.
But there’s one critical point this movie has, and that’s a man named Jeffrey Combs. Longtime genre favorite Jeffrey Combs–the man made a name for himself as Herbert West in the Re-Animator series. And he’s on my short list of actors who’ll always turn in a good performance: Lance Henriksen, Brad Dourif, William H. Macy, Tiffany Shepis and Jeffrey Combs.
So I’m looking forward to this part of the Fangoria Frightfest–hoping for the best, but not ruling out the worst.
