Machete and The American were neck and neck at Friday’s Box Office with Machete taking the overall lead with about $3.89 while The American took the number 2 spot, bringing in roughly $3.769 million.

Takers brought in enough dough to grab about $3 million with The Last Exorcism earning around $2.3 million.  An opening day arrival starting Drew Barrymore called Going the Distance rounded out the top five with about $2.2 million.
