Portman May Leap to Gravity

On September 7th, 2010

Natalie Portman career is taking a leap after being highly praised in Black Swan.  That leap could very well land her the lead in Alfonso Cuaron’s epic survival story Gravity.

As you have probably heard, Angelina Jolie recently pulled out of the $80 million 3D movie. Now Portman has her chance of taking the coveted role.

The story follows a woman stranded on a space station after satellite debris slams into it and wipes out the rest of the crew. She must survive a solitary ordeal.

Robert Downey Jr. already has committed to a supporting role.

Other female stars have been considered for the role, but Portman stands out. If she takes the role, it will be a prime move for her, but not nearly the salary of Jolie.

Gravity is slated to shoot at the end of January.
