Pictures from the next Planet of the Apes movie are out on the Internet and it looks like Acting 101 for this fellow.

I remember my first acting class when we had to do an exercise where we would be animals. The idea of the exercise was to feel comfortable making a idiot of ourselves. By making an idiot of ourselves, we’d learn that acting is allowing us to feel comfortable being anything without being an introvert.

It appears in these pictures that when I took that class, there was more to it. I never thought the exercise would be used to play a real animal in a spandex outfit.

The central part of the story’s origin is set in present day San Francisco and deals with the aftermath of man’s experiments with genetic engineering that lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. Franco will play a driven scientist who becomes a crucial figure in the war between humans and apes.
