Here’s the thing about this bit of news: this is the story of a Hellboy poster that never actually saw the light of day until just a couple days ago. It looks great, but it’s clearly unfinished.

It’s the lost Drew Struzan, and if you know anything about movie poster art, then you’re probably squealing like a schoolgirl right now.

Drew Struzan’s work was huge in the seventies and eighties, and he put together such famous pieces as the “Indiana Jones,” “Star Wars” and “Back to the Future” line of posters.  So it’s hardly a surprise to see him coming out for a big deal like Hellboy. Why the poster was never used is as yet unclear, but those reasons might be forthcoming in Struzan’s upcoming book, The Art of Drew Struzan.
