While I was growing up I didn’t watch the Smurfs, although I met and hung out with one of the voice actors for the television show.  I didn’t realize she was a celebrity until now.

These little people are cute.  Yet, if I came across them in Central Park, I’d freak for about five minutes.

The voice cast includes Jonathan Winters, Katy Perry, Anton Yelchin, Paul Reubens, George Lopez and Fred Armisen with real appearances by Neil Patrick Harris, Sofía Vergara and Hank Azaria.

The story is about an evil wizard named Gargamel who chases the tiny blue Smurfs out of their village. They tumble from their magical world and into ours — in fact, smack dab in the middle of Central Park. The Smurfs must find a way to get back to their village before Gargamel tracks them down.
