White Christmas Worth the Download!
I am a sucker for Michael Curtiz films. He never fails to deliver a story worth seeing. He directed all the Errol Flynn and Olivia de Havilland films, and of course, Casablanca to name a few streaming from my thoughts.
One of my favorite Christmas movies is White Christmas, also directed by Curtiz, starring Bing Crosby, Danny Kaye, Rosemary Clooney (George’s late Aunt) and Vera Ellen. I received a copy of the Anniversary edition last year from one of my favorite promotional people.
My family watched it, and my daughter saw it several times. This season, my family has already seen it once, and my daughter most likely will watch it, again, during the holiday break.
White Christmas is available from the iTunes Movie Store for one dollar! A preview of the movie is also available. For $1.00 you can enjoy one of the most entertaining classics of all time! Watching the dance sequences alone is worth far more than a mere dollar.
There is so much to the film, just layers and layers of entertainment.
With that said, here is a brief description from iTunes: “After leaving the Army after W.W.II, Bob Wallace (Crosby) and Phil Davis (Kay) team up to become a top song-and-dance act. Davis plays matchmaker and introduces Wallace to a pair of beautiful sisters, Betty (Clooney) and Judy (Elle), who also have a song-and-dance act. When Betty and Judy travel to a Vermont lodge to perform a Christmas show, Wallace and Davis follow, only to find their former commander, General Waverly (Dean Jagger), is the lodge owner. A series of romantic mix-ups ensue as the performers try to help the General.”
