Atrocious premiered at the 43rd Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia. It generated enough excitement that Celluloid Nightmares acquired the worldwide rights.

The horror movie is similar to Paranormal Activity. The story starts with the Spanish police reporting in April 2010 about the discovery of 37 hours of recorded evidence that sheds new light on a gruesome murder investigation.

They found footage documents of a family of five spending a holiday at their summer house, where brother-and-sister Cristian and July Quintanilla pass the time investigating a terrifying local urban legend. As their investigation intensifies strange occurrences in and around the house escalate rapidly, before culminating in unspeakable atrocities.

Latin Review says most foreign horror films are much better than the domestic ones. The movie makes its American debut at Slamdance Festival on January 22, 2011.  I am sure after the premiere we will hear if the movie lives up to its atrocities or not.
