Best Song Performances are Back for 83rd Oscars!

February 6th, 2011 in Awards, Fun/Entertainment, Movie News, Oscars, TV -

I missed the Academy Tweet feed, but I am grateful to In Contention’s announcement that Best Song performances are back for 83rd Oscars! Gwyneth Paltrow is set to sing!

This is fantastic. I missed the Best Song performances last year. I thought, it was a very bad move by the Academy to scratch them last year.

With that behind us, it’s exciting to have someone like Gwyneth Paltrow perform on the Oscar show (as she did on the CMT awards), which will help the ratings. In addition, Mandy Moore will be performing “I See the Light” with Zachary Levi and Alan Menken. A.R. Rahman will do “If I Rise” with Florence + the Machine and Randy Newman will be there to belt out “We Belong Together.”

I am looking forward to all the Best Song performances.
