Gyllenhaal in Early Discussions for Cop Movie

March 3rd, 2011 in Actors, Directors, Drama, Movies -

Jake Gyllenhaal started early discussions with David Ayer to star in his cop drama, End of Watch, which he wrote and will direct.

The story is somewhat hush-hush, but I do know it’s being described as a gritty drama that follows the friendship between longtime partners. Ayer is definitely in his element with this genre. He’s penned cop scripts before: Training Day, S.W.A.T. and the Christian Bale movie Harsh Times.

Another bit of news, Gyllenhaal has been mentioned as a contender for the lead in The Bourne Legacy, the latest rendition of the Universal franchise.

Seeing Gyllenhaal in an original story like End of Watch would be pretty cool and refreshing.
