Roger Ebert praises this short film and he thinks it should be nominated for an Oscar.  You decide. Jamie Stuart is talented – that’s for sure - and I recommend that you take a look at Stuart’s site: The Mutiny Company.  Wonderful use of Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross’s “Painted Sun in Abstract”  from The Social Network, I must say!

Hollywood is off to the races – with stars like Natalie Portman and James Franco leading the pack. As we wait for Oscar’s big night on February 27, 2011 here’s the latest news, fearless predictions and more at Entertainment Weekly: Oscar Race is On!

The folks at Pixar are doing their best to win the Best Picture Oscar as well as Best Animated Picture for their highly praised and critically acclaimed Toy Story 3.  Most would agree Best Animated Picture is a shoe in, but Best Picture might be a little tough to win.  Hence, Pixar’s marketing campaign.

I’ve posted just one poster from their campaign and you can see two other ones at First Showing.

Good-luck Pixar!

My guess is that we will see show- stopping material with Anne Hathaway and James Franco co-hosting the Academy Awards, February 27, 2011.

I don’t know if Franco can sing or dance, but Hathaway proved her talent when she participated in a song-and-dance routine with Hugh Jackman when he hosted in 2009.

_47432904_bullock226300Sandra Bullock took home the Oscar for Best Actress for her work on The Blind Side, but just the day before, she picked up a not-at-all-coveted Golden Raspberry award for her work in All About Steve. She has said that she will keep her Razzie on the same shelf with her Oscar.

I have to admire how Bullock took the news of winning the Razzie. She did not become a diva and become outraged, saying things like: “I’ve just been nominated for an Oscar, hello!” Instead she received her Razzie in person, and then went to get her Oscar the very next day.

I think stories like Bullock’s are the reasons that we admire celebrities so much. One of these days I am going to say to my kids: “Don’t feel down. You know that Sandra Bullock won an Oscar the same year she won a Razzie”.
