KosinskiJoseph Kosinski wrote a graphic novel called “Oblivion,” which has been picked up by Disney.  The sci-fi project will act as a Kosinski directing vehicle. Kosinski partnered with Radical on the project in July 2009, although it was not set up at a studio.

According to THR, he spent the last year honing the story while putting the finishing touches on Tron; Legacy, which is shaping up to be one of the most important movies for Disney in quite a while.

“Oblivion” takes place on a future Earth, where civilization lives above the clouds and scavengers collect ancient artifacts from the polluted surface below.  A one young scavenger finds a crashed spacecraft on Earth, which leads him on a journey  filled with romance and adventure.

Kosinski’s Oblivion movie deal is in the seven figures and is said to be one the largest rights deals of the year. THR reports that Disney wants to keep Kosinski in the fold, so the seven figure deal was inevitable.

Tron Legacy trailer #2 shows a lot more without revealing the whole story.  It looks as if a CGI character of Jeff Bridges has been made to create the younger looking Kevin Flynn.  Latino Review wrote a complete review of the presentation at SDCC.  I recommend you check it out here if you want to know the production angle of the Disney movie.
