Kids and their families from coast-to-coast are in for literally a “howling” good time with The Dog Who Saved Halloween. It’s a true Halloween story released on DVD from the hit Dog Who Saved… original movie series.

Mayim Bialik of “The Big Bang Theory” and Joey Lawrence of “Melissa & Joey” share the screen as they join the film’s pack of top talent as the voices of “ruff” and tough Bernese Mountain Dog Medusa and beloved Labrador Retriever Zeus.

The DVD is now available at all retail stores nationwide. “This latest installment of the ‘Dog’ film series, featuring recognizable talent and filled with engaging magic and mystery is sure to be a hit with families for years to come,” explained Erin Carter, Executive Director of Brand Marketing for Anchor Bay Entertainment.

My daughter finds her favorite four-legged friend Zeus (voiced by Joey Lawrence) and the Bannisters as fun and entertaining as ever in The Dog Who Saved Halloween, an all-new adventure jam-packed with family-friendly thrills and chills!

When George, Belinda and their kids Kara and Ben Bannister move into a new house – just in time for Halloween! – everything seems to be fine…until they notice eerie glowing lights and strange sounds coming from their neighbor’s house where creepy Mr. Cole (Lance Henriksen) lives with his protective pooch Medusa (voiced by Mayim Bialik).

A black cat suddenly goes missing and George Bannister (Gary Valentine) insists on investigating the matter himself – and ultimately enlists an odd yet familiar pair (Dean Cain, Joey Diaz) to help. But after the trio and Belinda Bannister (Elisa Donovan) get trapped inside the spooky house, it’s once again up to Zeus to save the day!

We have one copy of The Dog Who Saved Halloween available as a giveaway.

The movie is actually pretty entertaining, and it is cool to see Dean Cain as a foolish or inept person.

William Wyler’s Ben-Hur (1959) is one of my all time favorite movies. The characters are engaging with action pack adventure. I always think of the chariot race when someone mentions Ben Hur – it is pure entertainment.

If you are into cinematography, this movie is a cut above the rest – true product of the days of Hollywood when special effects consisted of great camera work. I can’t think of any other movie that surpasses the grandeur of Ben-Hur.

Now, you can watch it at home on a giant screen with the movie completely remastered. You will appreciate this Blu-ray package with booklets and other extras you enhance your viewing pleasure. I can safely say this is the closest near-perfect version we will ever see.

Ben-Hur took home an unprecedented 11 Academy Awards in 1959 and clearly deserved every single one. Prince Judah Ben-Hur (Charlton Heston) and his estrangement from old Roman pal Messala (Stephen Boyd) is grand in detailed, and sensitively portrayed. Directed by William Wyler, who was the junior assistant on MGM’s original silent version in 1925, the story is magnificent and never sacrifices the human focus in favor of spectacle. Miklos Rozsa’s grandiose musical score, notably one of the greatest ever written for a Hollywood picture. At four hours it’s a long tale but worth every moment.

Available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, DVD, On Demand and for Download 9/27! Please make sure you Like Ben-Hur on Facebook and Follow Ben-Hur on Twitter.

Screenhead has One (1) DVD box set to giveaway. Please post your name and I will pick the winner October 25, 2011.

Here is a fantastic giveaway from Sony Pictures Home Entertainment. In a Better World, which is now available on DVD and Blu-ray.

You could call this a provocative film that explores the difficult choices between revenge and forgiveness. In a Better World follows two Danish families and the unusual and dangerous friendship that develops between them.

Bullied at school, Elias is defended by Christian, a boy greatly troubled over his mother’s death. So when the two become involved in an act of revenge with potentially tragic consequences, it’s their parents who are left to help them come to terms with the complexity of human emotions, pain and empathy in this 2010 Academy Award and Golden Globe winner for Best Foreign Film.

In a Better World is a 2010 Danish drama film directed by Susanne Bier and written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Anders Thomas Jensen. Its original Danish title is Hævnen, which means “The Revenge.”

I hate it when I see a person hang out with the wrong people and choose the wrong friends. It appears that is what Inside Out formulates. The movie opens September 9, 2011.

For the last thirteen years AJ (Triple H, Chief Operating Officer of WWE) has been behind bars, convicted of manslaughter for killing a man who intended to kill his best friend, Jack (Michael Rapaport) a high-strung low-level mobster. Now released, AJ wants nothing more than to start a small business and live a life free of crime. Unfortunately, within hours of leaving prison, Jack involves AJ in an accidental shooting leaving a man dead.

When Jack’s father, local mob boss Dr. Vic (Bruce Dern), hears the news he wants the mess cleaned up, and fast. Meanwhile, Martha (Julie White) an agent for the Louisiana Tax Board, has been investigating Dr. Vic for smuggling counterfeit cigarettes into Louisiana and determined to bring Dr. Vic down and Jack. With the authorities hot on his trail, Jack is now forced to skip town.

Dr. Vic’s patience is wearing thin and he decides to take things into his own hands, looking for retribution. Well aware of Dr. Vic’s violent past, AJ will stop at nothing to protect Jack’s wife, Claire (Parker Posey), the woman he’s always loved and her daughter Pepper (Juliette Goglia).
