Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence are working together, again, in Serena, a very deep and emotionally driven story. The pair just wrapped David O. Russell’s The Silver Linings Playbook. So, this new project should be great material for both of them.
Serena will be an adaptation of Ron Rash’s novel of the same name, set in 1929. The North Carolina story follows a couple who relocate with the plan to build a timber empire. The circumstances and blind ambition works against them as the childless wife, who is unable to bear children, builds a vengeance against her husband’s illegitimate son.
In a Better World director Susanne Bier will direct this film.
Director Zack Snyder is hard at work on the new Superman film, which is scheduled to begin filming this spring. According to rumors, Warner Bros. is in late-stage talks with Bradley Cooper for the part of none other than super villain Lex Luthor — a role which has been previously portrayed by heavy hitters like Gene Hackman and Kevin Spacey.
Bradley Copper seems somewhat of an odd choice for the bald villain, but we’ll see how it works out (we’re yet to see Cooper bald, after all). The new Superman movie, officially titled Man of Steel, is scheduled for a 2013 release.
In The Hangover Part II, Phil (Bradley Cooper), Stu (Ed Helms), Alan (Zach Galifianakis) and Doug (Justin Bartha) travel to exotic Thailand for Stu’s wedding.
After the truly unforgettable bachelor party in Las Vegas, Stu is taking no chances and has opted for a safe, subdued pre-wedding brunch. However, things don’t always go as planned. What happens in Vegas may stay in Vegas, but what happens in Bangkok can’t even be imagined.
It appears to be the same story, but in Thailand. This time, they only had one beer. As the boys check out their clues, we learn why they don’t remember and how they got to Thailand. Oh, there is a monkey, too.
By the way, most of the movie was filmed in Los Angeles on the backlot of the studio. So, how about a huge round of applause for Production Direction and Art Direction.
I really like the new poster, it seem so much like the original Hangover movie. The new trailer is arriving tomorrow, and I can’t wait to see it.
The Hangover Part II is director Todd Phillips’ follow-up to 2009′s hit The Hangover, which became the highest-grossing R-rated comedy of all-time. Reprising their roles from the original movie are Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and Justin Bartha star in the film. Ken Jeong, Jeffrey Tambor, and Mike Tyson also rejoin the cast.

What would your life be like on NZT? To answer this question, I snagged the mock PSA video for Limitless, “Your Brain On NZT.”
The NZT commercial is inspired by the US anti-narcotics campaign by Partnership for a Drug-Free America (PDFA) launched in 1987!
You may ask: What is NZT exactly? You can watch the original NZT commercial featuring Bradley Cooper.
Directed by Neil Burger and written by Leslie Dixon, based on a novel by Alan Glynn, Limitless cast includes Bradley Cooper, Abbie Cornish, Anna Friel and Robert De Niro.
Limitless is a paranoia-fueled action thriller about an unsuccessful writer whose life is transformed by a top-secret “smart drug” that allows him to use 100% of his brain and become a perfect version of him. His enhanced abilities soon attract shadowy forces that threaten his new life.
The movie is being called “darkly comic and provocative.” It opens everywhere March 18, 2011.

I have seen that monkey before…Pineapple Express? Paul? Knocked Up?

It looks like director David O. Russell is about to shed his reputation as a difficult director. Despite accounts of fist fights with George Clooney (on the set of Three Kings) and a verbal attack on Lily Tomlin (see the clip here), the future is looking bright. His most recent film, The Fighter, turned out to be a pleasant surprise, a boxing pic with real heart and a sense of community (and plenty of nominations for this weekend’s Oscars). So what’s next?
Well, we all know that Russell is working away on an adaptation of the video game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune. Like Aronofsky who’s taking on Wolverine, this feels like an attempt to woo the studios into taking a few risks later down the line. And according to Indie Wire one of those projects is Cocaine Cowboys. Mark Wahlberg (who worked with Russell on The Fighter and I Heart Huckabees) has been attached to the project for some time and now Russell may come on board. The film is a based on the true story of Jon Roberts, who established a powerful and vicious drug cartel int he 1970′s. The article even suggests this could happen before Uncharted.
Also on Russell’s radar is The Silver Linings Playbook, an adaptation of Matthew Quick’s novel, in which a high-school teacher recent released from a mental institute aims to rebuild his life. Anne Hathaway and Bradley Cooper were associated with the project.
With genuine talent evident in The Fighter, it seems as if Russell may be more than the stereotypical “difficult” director.
Here is another Super Bowl TV spot you can see now in case you miss it during the game. Limitless is about an unsuccessful writer (Bradley Cooper) whose life is transformed by a top-secret “smart drug” that allows him to use 100% of his brain and become a perfect version of himself. His enhanced abilities soon attract shadowy forces that threaten his new life in this darkly comic and provocative film. I love the anti-drug message in this movie. Robert De Niro also stars in the thriller.

Aspiring author Eddie Morra (Cooper) is suffering from chronic writer’s block, but his life changes instantly when an old friend introduces him to NZT, a revolutionary new pharmaceutical that allows him to tap his full potential. With every synapse crackling, Eddie can recall everything he has ever read, seen or heard, learn any language in a day, comprehend complex equations and beguile anyone he meets—as long as he keeps taking the untested drug.
Soon Eddie takes Wall Street by storm, parlaying a small stake into millions. His accomplishments catch the eye of mega-mogul Carl Van Loon (De Niro), who invites him to help broker the largest merger in corporate history. But they also bring Eddie to the attention of people willing to do anything to get their hands on his stash of NZT.
With his life in jeopardy and the drug’s brutal side effects taking their toll, Eddie dodges mysterious stalkers, a vicious gangster and an intense police investigation as he attempts to hang on to his dwindling supply long enough to outwit his enemies.
