The comedy-adventure Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides full-length trailer (a.k.a. #2 trailer) is on the Internet. I like how Disney jumps around during the first part of the trailer, and the second half shows us more of the story. The story seems doable to me. Penelope Cruz and Ian McShane will add some credibility and talent to the third installment of the solid franchise. The other cast members include Johnny Depp, Kevin R. McNally, Astrid Bergès-Frisbey, Sam Claflin and Geoffrey Rush.
Directed by Rob Marshall the movie will be presented in Disney Digital 3D. Depp returns to his colorful role of Captain Jack Sparrow while crossing paths with the enigmatic Angelica (Cruz), he’s not sure if it’s love—or if she’s a ruthless con artist who’s using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth.
When she forces him aboard the “Queen Anne’s Revenge,” the ship of the legendary pirate Blackbeard (McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn’t know whom to fear more: Blackbeard or Angelica, with whom he shares a mysterious past.
In this trailer, it seems the mermaids or a particular mermaid plays a key part in the story. I wonder if we will see more details about the mermaids before the movie’s release May 20, 2011.
